LARRY ROUSE
Finger, TN: Larry Wayne Rouse, age 82 passed away February 17, 2025, at his daughter’s home.
He was born June 28, 1942, in Finger, the son of the late John Henry and Harriet Lutesha McCan Rouse, he grew up in Finger and attended Finger School and graduated from Bethel Springs High School in 1960. He joined the U.S. Army in 1964 and served thirteen months in Vietnam during the war.
He worked on his family farm and worked for Wally Construction in Jackson for many years until it closed. He continued farming and worked for Harvey Neal Smith, Road Commissioner in McNairy County as a heavy equipment operator for many years.
He enjoyed hanging out with his buddies, Neal Lynch and Phil Garner after his retirement.
He was member of the Elks Lodge in Henderson and did a lot of cooking for fundraiser benefits.
He loved farming and spending time with his family.
Mr. Rouse is survived by a daughter, Angela Pruett (Jason) of Finger; four grandchildren, Wayne Lambert (Savannah), Rebekah Sawyer, Andra Pruett and Seth Pruett; three great grandchildren, Ellanor Lambert, Karson Jones and Navy Mae Young; a niece who was like a sister, Diane Henson of Durham, NC and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Rouse; four sisters, Leerlene Sanders, Imogene Rouse, Reva Gladys Rouse, and Clara Neal Julian.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main with Wayne Lambert officiating. Burial will follow at Old Estes Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at East Main 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday.
