Miguez Funeral Home - JenningsIt is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Larry "Cowboy" Dale Roy, who left us peacefully on October 25, 2025, at the age of 71. Larry was born on April 23, 1954, in Estherwood, LA, and spent his life in the Jennings area, where he created countless memories and lasting friendships.
Cowboy was a hardworking man, dedicated to his job as a driller in the oil and gas industry. He was known for his strong work ethic and strong spirit, which he carried into everything he did. Beyond his work, Larry had a zest for life. He loved to dance, especially to French music, and you could often find him fishing or tinkering with scrap metal. Many afternoons were spent sitting on the porch, sipping coffee, and enjoying the simple pleasures of life.
But above all, it was his family that truly brought him joy. Larry cherished gatherings with his loved ones, and he especially enjoyed spending time with his wife, Kathleen Roy, his children, Sheri Roy and Cory (Trina) Roy, and his grandchildren, Trevor Byrd, Darren Byrd, Erica Roy, Tresa Guidry, Traven Guidry, and his seven great grandchildren. Larry is also survived by his brothers Norris, Gerald (Emily), and Douglas (Donna) Roy, and his sisters Thelma Breaux and Deanie (Keith) Thibodeaux, .
Join us to celebrate Larry's life. A public viewing will be held at Miguez Funeral Home on October 26, 2025, from 1:30 PM to 9:00 PM, and again on October 27, 2025, starting at 8:00 AM. The funeral service will take place at the same location on October 27, 2025, at 10:00 AM, followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Olice and Alice Guillory Roy.
