Larry Eugene Southern

Larry Eugene Southern, 81, of Pittsburg, KS, passed away on December 01, 2025, at Via Christi Village in Pittsburg, Kansas. Larry was born on November 16, 1944, to Herman and Leona B. (Dilg) Southern in Lamar, Missouri. Larry graduated from Pittsburg High School. Larry was in the United States Army from 1967 to 1968 and then he was in the Army National Guard. Larry worked for AT&T as a Lobbyist for many years.
He is survived by three daughters, Kimberly Duerson of Tulsa, OK, S. Renee Jackson (Derrick) of Flagstaff, AZ, and Shannon Southern (Patrick Shannon) of Kansas City, MO; a sister, Vickie Southern of Eugene, OR; and six grandchildren, Sheridon Duerson, Avery Bleu Duerson, Annabelle Jackson, Henry Jackson, William Jackson, and Theodore Jackson.
A Funeral Service will be on Friday, December 5th, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the Brenner Mortuary with Chaplain Derek Harman officiating. Burial will follow at Nashville Cemetery. A Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the start of the service on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made to Vetlinks.org. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS.
