In loving memory of Larry E. Sparks, an honorable and courageous man, whose greatest pride was his family, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026, at the age of 75.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Larry was the son of the late Earnest and Helen (nee Sweeten) Sparks. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 56 years, Lynn Sparks (nee Suddendorf).
Larry was the proud and loving father of Susan (Ben) Carter, Trisha (Ryan) Stahl, and Laura (Dan) DiPilla, and grandfather (Papa) of Michael, Jacob, William, Chase, Miles, Nora, Charlie, and Cameron.
He was the dear brother of Bertha (the late Jim) Sullivan and Lon (Deborah) Sparks, and brother-in law of Jane Suddendorf and the late Joyce (nee Suddendorf) and Michael Brusman. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other family and lifelong friends.
A proud patriot, Larry served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps, with the 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, Delta Company, during the Vietnam War. For his bravery and sacrifice, he was awarded the Bronze Star with Combat V, and two Purple Hearts. He completed his tour at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
Following his service, Larry was a Special Agent for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). He also served as a Resident Agent in Charge and was a member of the ATF National Response Team. Thereafter, he was the owner and operator of Comp Co’s Printing in Cincinnati.
Visitation at B.J. Meyer Sons Funeral Home, 5864 Bridgetown Rd., SATURDAY, February 21, 2026, from 11:00 AM until the time of the memorial service at 12:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to support Prisoner of War (POW) and Wounder Warrior Project.
