Larry Dean Tebben, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and rancher, passed away on July 30, 2024, at the age of 70 in Floresville, Texas. He was born on May 18, 1954, in Emporia, Kansas, to Everett and Edith (Zimmerman) Tebben. Larry lived a life full of adventure, hard work, and love for his family.
Larry graduated from Emporia State University, where he played football and earned his degree in Education. After graduation, he founded the LD Tebben Company in Austin, Texas, specializing in Commercial roofing and Sheetmetal for over 40 years. His entrepreneurial spirit and dedication helped build a thriving business, allowing him to pursue his true passion: ranching.
In retirement, Larry devoted his time to running Tebben Ranches, where he enjoyed the serenity of ranch life and the challenge of raising Wagyu cattle. He also served as the Vice President of the Texas Wagyu Association for many years and was also active in The American Wagyu Association. His deep connection with the land and love for ranching and family were evident in every aspect of his life.
Larry's legacy will live on through the lives he touched and the memories he created. His passion for life, love for his family, and commitment to his work and ranching will be remembered and celebrated by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Edith Tebben, and his nephew, Adam Tebben.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Michele Tebben; his daughter, Tara Tebben; his stepchildren, Stephen (Jessie) Lenzen, Kristin Lenzen, and Nicole Lenzen (Alec Betterley); his grandchildren, Jayden, Wrenlee, Dante, Silvia, Autumn, Chloe, George, Kingsley, and Isabel; his siblings, Dallas (Carmen) Tebben and Barbara Munoz; and his nieces and nephews, Eddie, Vanessa, April, and Rachel.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2024 from 10:30 to 11:30 am at Floresville United Methodist Church, in Floresville, Texas. Funeral services will follow beginning at 11:30. Private burial will take places at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Larry's name to a charity supporting agricultural education and conservation, honoring his love for the land and dedication to preserving it for future generations.
