He was born September 5, 1946 in Los Angeles, CA; the son of Arthur Lewling and Amy Louis Taft Thomas. Larry moved from Kingman, AZ to Hanston, KS 6 years ago, where he was a disabled veteran.
He served in the United States Army and he loved to gamble, fish and dance.
On November 5, 1967 he married Betsy Phillips in Pleasanton, CA. She passed away August 24, 2013.
Survivors include: Son, Eric Thomas, Kingman, AZ; three daughters, Gena (Dale) Farr, Hanston, KS, Faith (Dehaven) Shaffer, Kingman, AZ, Jamie (Gary) Bush, Lemoyne, NE; three sisters, Anita Thomas, Joplin, MO, Donna Lawrence, Carl Junction, MO, Becky Moyer, Baxter Springs, KS; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Nathan Fisher and a brother-in-law, Michael Moyer.
Graveside service will at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 21, 2025 at Kansas Veterans Cemetery at Fort Dodge with Pastor Doug Ellison presiding. Military honors conducted by US Army Military Funeral Honors and the Southwest Kansas Veterans Funeral Honor Guard.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August, 20, 2025 at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore.
Memorials may be given to the Larry Thomas Memorial Fund (Make checks payable to Gina Farr) in care of Beckwith Funeral Home, Box 663 Jetmore, Ks 67854. Condolences may be left at www.beckwithfuneralhome.com.
