Larry Vanhook Obituary
Larry Darnell Vanhook, born April 29th 1950 to Katie Mae Patillo Vanhook & Rev. Robert Henry Vanhook Sr. (both deceased) in the township of GreenLevel, North Carolina. Larry was 1 of 6 siblings that this amazing couple were blessed with. Larry was a graduate of Central High School in Graham North Carolina. Larry was a very smart and outgoing young man who loved to sing, model and work with mentally challenged teens. His passions led him to Morristown New Jersey shortly after graduation, where he perused his career, dedicating over 40 yrs as a disease control technician. Larry brought laughs and smiles into every room he entered and always had a joke to tell. While his favorite punch line was "BITE ME", we all knew how much love came behind it. He loved his family dearly and always expressed the words "I LOVE YOU". Larry was a member of Sweet Gum Grove Missionary Baptist Church, were he sang in the choir as a young adult. He was a song bird, a beautiful soul, a shining star and he will be missed dearly.
He was preceded in death by 3 sisters…. Mrs. Ruth Mae Vanhook Poteat, Mrs. Rosetta Vanhook Richmond,Ms. Brenda Ann Vanhook and a brother, Mr. Robert Vanhook Jr.
He leaves behind 1 sister, Ms. Glenda Faye Vanhook, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins also many special friends he loved as family.
