Larry Watts Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stribling Funeral Home - Duncan on Jan. 4, 2026.
Larry Watts
Woodruff, SC
Larry Eugene Watts, 78, of Woodruff, South Carolina, joined his lord and savior on January 3, 2026. Larry was born in Asheville, North Carolina on April 21 1947. He was the son of the late Woodrow Watts and Mayme Kidd Watts. He attended and graduated from Enka High School and Blanton Business College. In his adult years he was a dedicated employee of ABF Freight for 48 years. Larry was a faithful and deeply impactful member of the Wade Hampton Masonic Lodge for 39 years, and he was a member of Burnsview Baptist Church.
Larry Watts was an avid golfer, in his spare time enjoyed watching NASCAR, and his Clemson Tigers. Deeper than that though, Larry Watts was a leader among men, a faithful Christian, loving father, beloved grandfather, and a true inspiration for how one should live a life. Larry was always giving to others, and put others needs before his own. Larry was always quick to lend a hand, and to stand for what's right. His Masonic works with the Wade Hampton lodge, along with his works as a Shriner touched many in the community and changed lives for the better. His love and pride for his family was never ending, his grandchildren were his world, and his daughter his greatest accomplishment. Every persons life that Larry touched, he made better and brighter with his presence. He truly lefts this world better than he found it.
Larry is survived by his daughter Susan Harvey (Jimmy); his two grandchildren Bret (Sierra) Brooke (Brady); his soon to be great grandchild Maddux Harvey; and a brother, Sam Watts.
Larry's passing is a tragic one, but he knew his Lord and Savior. For the works he did on earth there is an eternity of rewards. As it says In 2 Timothy 4:7 "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith". The world's best Father, Friend and Papa will be missed..
Funeral services will be held at 12PM on Thursday, January 08, 2026 at Stribling Funeral Home Chapel with Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends from 11AM until 12PM prior to the service.
Interment will be held at Green Hills Cemetery in Asheville, North Carolina at 2PM.
