Lawrence “Larry” W. Wormald, 86, of North Syracuse, passed away at home comfortably in his sleep on October 8, 2024. Larry was born in Akron, Ohio on January 18, 1938 to Willis and MaryAnn Wormald. 

 Larry graduated from Akron University where is acquired his undergraduate in Civil Engineering, then went on to New Mexico State University achieving his Masters in Sanitary Engineering. He served in the United States Army. Larry was active in Boy Scouts, achieving the Eagle Scout and Silver Beaver awards. He was also a member of Solvay Tyrol Club, St. Rose of Lima Church, Swing Dance Group, Mohawk Valley Wrestling Club, and American Water Works Assoc. He coached North Syracuse Little League for 10 years, North Syracuse High School Wrestling for 3 years, Mohawk Valley Wrestling Club for 9 years, and youth wrestling for 4 years. He is also in University of Akron Wrestling Hall of Fame, and involved in many other community groups and activities. Larry worked for Barton & Loguidice Engineers for over 30 years and acted as a Vice President of the company. Larry spent his free time model railroading, hunting, fishing, sailing, and with his family.

 He was preceded in death Father, Willis Wormald; Mother, MaryAnn Wormald; and Daughter, Karen L. Greenwood.

 He is survived by his Wife of 65 years, Beverly J. Wormald; Children, David (Pat) Wormald, Patricia A. Wormald-Pierce, Jeff (Maria) Wormald; Siblings, Barbara (William) Newenhisen, Russel Wormald; 13 Grandchildren; 31 Great-Grandchildren; 1 Great-Great-Grandchild and 4 on the way; and many Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.

Family and friends may call on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 from 10:00am - 12:00pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals - North Syracuse, 705 N. Main St, Syracuse, where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 12:00pm. Interment at North Syracuse Cemetery. 

 In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Scouts of America.
