Laura E. Butler, 67, of Kewanee, passed away Friday, November 8, 2024, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice House, Peoria, Laura was born September 13, 1957, in Kewanee, the daughter of James A. "Jim", Jr. and Marilyn J. (Lindstrom) Humphrey. Laura attended and graduated from Wethersfield High School with the class of 1975. She attended some college at Black Hawk East College. Laura married Richard "Rich/Bubba" L. Butler on June 18, 1977, in Kewanee, he survives.
Laura is also survived by her children, Cody Butler, Kewanee; Brandon (Maribeth) Butler, Kewanee; two grandchildren, Lee and Isabella Butler; brother, Nick (Randi) Humphrey, Kewanee; and four nieces, Krista (Greg) Eble, Chelsea (Shannon Frankenreider) Humphrey, Amber (Dave) Pratt and Autumn (John) Summy. She was preceded in death by her parents; and maternal and paternal grandparents.
Laura worked at Tiny Tots Daycare. She enjoyed bowling during her younger years, she was on the Reiman's Harley Davidson Team. She enjoyed watching sports. Laura was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She volunteered for the Kewanee Park District helping with the Windmont Park Lighting. After retirement she worked part time for the Kewanee High School. Laura especially loved spending time with her family and attending her grandchildrens' activities.
Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Golnick-Schueneman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am, Friday, November 15, 2024, at the funeral home. Pastor Linnea Gustafson will officiate. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to The Salvation Army or the Henry County Humane Society, Kewanee.
