Laura "Laurie" Kay Donmyer passed away unexpectedly in her home on September 3rd, 2023 at the age of 61. Laurie was born August 16th, 1962 to Ralph and Mary Boor in Salina, Kansas. Laurie grew up in Salina and attended Sacred Heart High School and later attended Marymount College and Kansas Wesleyan.
Laurie and her younger sister Cindy were only 14 months apart and close in age to many of her cousins, causing her to have very special and fun relationships with them. In her younger years, Laurie enjoyed playing softball, traveling, attending craft shows, and spending time with her horses. In recent years, Laurie loved spending time with her family, her beloved dogs, and playing with her great nieces. Laurie will be most remembered for her hard work ethic, huge smile, and love for joking and teasing her friends and loved ones. Laurie will be missed immensely by all those that knew her and cared for her.
"Yeah, when I get where I'm going, they'll be only happy tears. I will shed the sins and struggles I have carried all these years. I will leave my heart wide open. I will love and have no fear."
Laurie was preceded in death by her mother Mary Boor. Laurie is survived by her father, Ralph Boor of Salina, Kansas; sister, Cindy Loy of Beloit, Kansas; daughter, Danielle Donmyer of Mission, Kansas; nephews, Zach Loy of Salina, Kansas, and Ethan Loy (Dani) of Shawnee, Kansas; and three great nieces, Joelle, Kaiya, and Ava.
Cremation was chosen.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, September 7th, from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm with a Rosary service at 6:00 pm, at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home.
The Memorial Service will be at 10:00 am, Friday, September 8th, at the funeral home.
