Diane McCorquodale, a beacon of joy and wisdom, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025, at her home in Kingsland, Texas. Born on July 31, 1953, in the quaint town of Alpine, Texas, Diane's infectious laughter and spirited nature were evident from a young age.

Diane, affectionately known by those closest to her, graduated from Lubbock High School, in 1971. Her passion for language and culture led her to Texas Tech, where she majored in Spanish, a subject that would enrich her life and those around her. Diane's professional journey was marked by her tenure at St. Paul Insurance Company in Arlington, Texas, and later at Security State Bank and Trust in Kingsland, Texas, where she dedicated her skills until her retirement in 2016.

Her life partner, Kelly Spurlock, stood by her side, sharing in her adventures and dreams. Diane's family was the cornerstone of her life, including her son Martin, his wife Sabrina Glover, and their son Blaine. Diane's warmth extended to her dear friend James Berardi, her nephews Jackie and Ricky Johnson, and her niece Machelle Niemann, all of whom will miss her deeply.

Diane's interests were as vibrant as her personality. An avid golfer, she found joy in the serenity of the greens and the camaraderie of the game. Her flower beds were a testament to her love for beauty and nature, each bloom nurtured by her caring hands. Diane often said her spirit animal was a bird, which was fitting for someone who lived with such freedom and grace.

Known as one of the Last Hill Country Coyotes, Diane's larger-than-life presence was felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was a pillar of the community, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a captivating story. Her humor, intelligence, and spirited nature made her a beloved figure, and her ability to make everyone around her smile was unmatched.

Diane's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the indelible mark she left on the hearts of those she met. Her stories will continue to be told, her laughter will echo in the memories of her loved ones, and her spirit will live on in the beauty of the world she so cherished. As we say goodbye to Diane McCorquodale, we celebrate a life well-lived and a woman who was truly one of a kind.
