Thomas O. "Moon" Mullikin, a cherished family man, esteemed colleague, and beloved member of the community, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025, in Granite Shoals, TX, at the age of 89. Born on June 12, 1936, in Galveston, TX, Moon's life was a testament to his unwavering faith, his love for his family, and his passion for life.
Moon was predeceased by his loving wife, Freddie Louise Mullikin, and his treasured grandson, Dustin Mullikin. He is survived by a family that adored him: his son, Tommy O. Mullikin Jr. and wife Tamara; his daughters, Elizabeth Mullikin Ciha and Valerie Shastid and husband Lee; his eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Each of them will carry forward his legacy of humor, generosity, and love.
Moon's professional life was marked by exceptional achievement. As the National Sales Manager for Armstrong Tire and Rubber, he was recognized as the number 1 national salesperson in the nation for five consecutive years, a testament to his dedication and skill. His commitment to his work was paralleled by his service to his country, having honorably served two years in the Army.
A devout Christian, Moon lived his faith through his actions and interactions with others. He was a pillar of strength and kindness in his community, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a word of encouragement.
An all-around sportsman, Moon's passion for fastpitch softball was well-known. His love for the outdoors and landscaping was evident to anyone who had the pleasure of visiting his beautifully maintained garden. Moon's zest for life and his ability to find joy in the simple pleasures were truly infectious.
Moon's sense of humor was legendary. He had a knack for storytelling and could light up a room with his wit and charm. His generosity knew no bounds, as he was always the first to offer support in times of need. Above all, Moon was a loving individual who cherished his family and friends deeply.
As we bid farewell to Thomas O. "Moon" Mullikin, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest. His memory will continue to inspire and guide us. Moon's laughter, wisdom, and love are etched into the hearts of all who knew him, and his spirit will forever be a beacon of light in our lives.
