Born in Anderson County, Laura was the daughter of the late Thomas Lilburn Loyd and the late Mildred Stewart Loyd. She was an operator for many years in the manufacturing industry. Her greatest joy was being a wife, mother, and Nana. She loved ice cream, horses, and everyone she met. She was a Jehovah's Witness and attended worship meetings at Kingdom Hall on E. Calhoun Street.
In addition to her husband, Laura is survived by her children, Philip Medlin (Dorri), Greg Medlin (Estelle), Russell Medlin (Melissa),and Jill Fleeman (Adam); grandchildren, Valerie Medlin, Joel Medlin, Emily Fleeman, and Sara Fleeman; sister, Delores Bolt; brother, Steve Loyd; sister-in-law, Linda Manly (Troy); nephews, Elijah Manly and Josiah Manly, as well as several other nephews, nieces, and extended family members.
She is preceded in death by three brothers, Bill Loyd, Ralph Loyd, and Lamar Loyd.
The family will receive friends at Sullivan-King Mortuary from 5-7 PM on Friday evening. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, April 19, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1401 E. Calhoun Street, Anderson, SC 29621.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1401 E. Calhoun Street, Anderson, SC 29621.
