Laura Thomas Obituary
Laura was born August 20, 1960, in Evergreen Park, Illinois, to the late Frederick Marlar and Janice (Vansickle) Marlar.
She was known for her kindness and love for her family, grandchildren, and her spiritual community. Laura loved being a "Nana." She was a cat lover and enjoyed taking care of her kittens. She was a caregiver for her family members as health issues presented themselves. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Emily Lopez; and sisters, Tracie Chisu and Holly Hernandez. Those left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Alesia Thomas and Camilla Lopez; brother, Jason Marlar; and sister, Carla Marlar.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital: 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or at stjude.org
A Memorial service will be Sunday, January 4, 2025, at 2:30 P.M. with at brief visitation beginning at 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Laura, please visit our Tree Store.
