The world lost a beautiful soul when Laurel Ann Kaup, born on May 29, 1939 in Hollywood, California, passed away on June 5, 2024. Laurel was a compassionate and dedicated individual, with a heart as vast as the oceans. She lived her life in Spanaway, Washington, for 45 years, where she served her community as a dedicated clerk in the Postal Service. Her work was not just a job to her, but a mission to connect people and deliver moments of joy. Her thoughtfulness shone through every letter and parcel she handled. Each day, she brought a bit of sunshine into the lives of those she served.
Laurel was a loving mother, survived by her precious children Frances Bauer, Guy Kaup, John Dean, and Robert Dean, and she was a wonderful grandmother to thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Armand Riggs and Veronica Doren. She was the heart of the family, the glue that held them together, always ready to lend an ear, share a loving word, or offer a comforting hug. As Maya Angelou once said, "I sustain myself with the love of family," and Laurel lived this truth every day.
To celebrate Laurel's remarkable life, a Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, 22 Jun 2024 at 1:00pm MDT at Weeks' Dryer Mortuary, located at 220 134th Street South, Tacoma, Washington, 98444. We invite all who knew and loved Laurel to join us in honoring her memory.
