Laurie J. Bell, 67, of Plattsburgh, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at her home with her loving family by her side under the care of Hospice of the North Country. She was born in Plattsburgh on September 10, 1957, the daughter of Richard and Mylrae Myers.
Laurie graduated from Beekmantown Central School in 1975. She married the love of her life Michael Bell on July 3, 1982 at St. Alexander's Church. Laurie worked at the Clinton County Nursing Home for a few years before working at CVPH Medical Center as a Clinical Assistant. She retired in 2019 after 42 years of service.
She learned to crochet after retiring something she enjoyed very much and was proud to call herself a hooker! She also enjoyed boating, traveling and spending winters in Florida where she made many friends that were like family. Laurie's greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her children Heather and Ian and was eagerly anticipating the arrival of her first grandchild, Taylor.
Laurie was predeceased by her parents, her father-in-law Clifton Bell, two brother-in-laws; Gregory and Curtis Bell.
She is survived by her husband Michael, her children; Heather Connors and her husband Ryan of Ballston Lake and Ian Bell of Plattsburgh, her siblings; Renee Cook, Steven (Beth) Myers, Joey (Julie) Myers and Tim (Andy) Wormser, her mother-in-law Deanna Bell, her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Ann (Leonard) Vaughn, Jeanene Bell, Jonathan Bell and Karen Bell, several nieces and nephews also survive her.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday February 27, 2025 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday February 28, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville.
Donations in Laurie's name may be made to Hospice of the North Country.
