Laurie J. Bodeen, 70, of Monmouth, IL passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
Laurie was born May 15, 1955, in Monmouth the daughter of James “Justin” and Dorothy M. (Foster) Welch. She was raised and educated in Monmouth, graduating from Monmouth High School in 1973.
Laurie married Jack Bodeen on October 24, 1987, in Monmouth and he survives.
Laurie started her banking career in 1977 as a teller with the National Bank of Monmouth and later Midwest Bank of Western Illinois, she worked in various capacities before becoming the Human Resource Officer. She later worked in the Trust Department at Midwest Bank retiring in 2021.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Monmouth.
Survivors include her husband, Jack Bodeen; her children, Jennifer (James) Hill of Prescott, AZ and Michael (JoAnn) Bodeen of Monticello, MN; and 5 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother, James Welch and stepfather, Everett Palmer.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be 5:00-7:00 pm, Monday, September 29, 2025, at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth. A private family interment at Warren County Memorial Park will take place at a later date. Memorials may be given to Western Illinois Animal Rescue (WIAR) and sent to the funeral home.
