Laurie Foreman Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

Laurie Jane Foreman, 71, of Davenport, ND, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family, on the morning of Friday, October 10, 2025.
She was born on September 19, 1954, in Watford City, ND, to Gordon and Sally (Lovaas) Foreman, the third of six children. Laurie grew up on the family farm in rural Keene, ND, and graduated as valedictorian from Mandaree High School in 1972. After high school, she moved to Fargo.
As she raised her four children, Laurie worked various jobs and, at the age of 50, returned to school. She earned a medical coding degree with honors from Minnesota State Community and Technical College. She went on to work for Dakota Clinic, MeritCare, and Sanford before retiring.
Laurie was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in the summer of 2023. Never one to back down from a challenge, she faced her illness with incredible strength and grace. However, her life was defined by much more than her battle with cancer. Her unwavering love for God and her family remained the center of her life. Even in her most difficult moments, her faith provided comfort-not only to herself but to everyone around her.
Laurie is survived by her four children: Jennifer (Matthew) Rudnick, Brandon (Linette) Dahl, Amanda (Will) Brandt, and Olivia (Nick) Campbell. She was a beloved grandmother to five grandchildren: Landon, Aubrey, Juliana, Hudson, and Charlotte. She is also survived by her siblings Wayne (Donna) Foreman, Lance Foreman, and Rita Heilman.
With her loving heart, Laurie became a mother figure to many and leaves behind countless honorary children who were blessed to know her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Sally Foreman; her sister, Nita Foreman; her brother, David Foreman; and her nephew, Kelly Foreman.
A visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 20, 2025, with a memorial service to follow at 6:00 p.m. at West Funeral Home, 321 Sheyenne St., West Fargo, ND.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Ronald McDonald House in honor of her nephew Kelly Foreman or the New Life Center of Fargo.
Laurie's children would like to express their deepest gratitude to the many care teams who supported her throughout her two-year battle with cancer. Without the compassionate care of Dr. Brett Rozeboom and Dr. Dacia Engberg, Laurie's journey would have been profoundly different. The love they showed made them feel like surrogate children to her.
In her final weeks, the hospice and home care teams were essential to Laurie's comfort and dignity, as well as helping to instruct and support her kids to be great caregivers. The family extends special thanks to Nikki and April with Hearts in Action, and Natasha, Tracy and Chell with Home Instead.
Visitation & Refreshments: Monday, October 20, 2025, 5:00pm-6:00pm at West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND.
Service: Monday, October 20, 2025, 6:00pm at West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND.
