Laurie Lynn Kalt, 62, of Emerald Isle, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on June 12, 1963, in South Bend, Indiana, Laurie lived a life defined by kindness, selflessness, and devotion to those she loved most.
A proud homemaker, Laurie found joy in creating a warm and welcoming home. She cherished being a mother above all else and delighted in raising her three beautiful daughters-April, Jodie, and Chelsea. She also adored her role as Nana to Bradley, Ava, Ivy, Riley, Porter, and Chrisley, who brought her endless laughter and pride.
Laurie had a deep love for the simple joys of life. She found peace in the mountains and the ocean, treasured quiet mornings watching sunrises and evenings spent admiring sunsets, and could often be found tending to her garden or enjoying time on her porch. She loved cooking for her family, shopping for others, and sharing long conversations on the phone with those closest to her. Her passion for photography and nature reflected the beauty she saw in the world around her.
Those who knew Laurie will remember her as a selfless soul who always put others before herself. Her warmth, generosity, contagious laugh and unwavering love touched countless lives. She will be deeply missed by her devoted husband, Joe Kalt, her children and grandchildren, her extended family, and her best friends who loved her like family.
Her memory will live on through her children, her grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her.
Laurie was preceded in death by her parents, Linda Pete and Dennis Krah, her sister Kathryn Kearney, and her niece Erin Dewar.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In honor of Laurie Kalt, we will gather together on our family farm in Gretna, Virginia, to plant a tree and create a lasting tribute to her memory.
Flowers are welcome, please forward to the residence, 7215 Archers Creek Drive, Emerald Isle, NC 28594.
