Laverna Faye Grokett aged 85, passed away July 5, 2025 at her home in Princeton TX. She was born on April 22, 1940 in Gracemont OK to James Arnold & Grace Ellen (Hawley) McCathern. She raised her family in Garland TX for many years & moved to Campbell TX in 1980. She had a long career at Rubbermaid & retired in 2004. She loved staying busy & was a fantastic salesperson. She worked part time at CDS (Club Demonstration Services) in Costco in Plano & McKinney for over 19 years making many friends along the way. She also spent many years helping with the elderly. She loved going to the movies (the show) & spending time with family & friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Grace McCathern, siblings, Raymond, Bobby, Gene, Bill, Paul & Jerry McCathern, Frances Brown, Ruby Downey and Irene Alford and Linda Cauley.
She is survived by her children, Pam Wright, Kerri Chapman, Kevin Grokett and spouse Kristi Grokett. Her grandchildren and their spouses, Kristin and Gary Perkins, Amber and Wayne Davenport, Cortni and Seth Burke, Bethany and Dillon Salisbury, Hunter Grokett, and Zakary Grokett. Great grandchildren Ashlee Adams, Myles Davenport, Leo Ventura, Hunter Salisbury, Ellie Salisbury, & Garrison Salisbury. Her sister and bother in law, Betty Louise & Warren Wyrick along with many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday July 12 at 12 noon at Charles W Smith & Sons Funeral Home 601 S Tennessee St McKinney TX 75069.
