Laverne Kasper, 92, of North Little Rock, Arkansas passed away August 20, 2025. She was born August 30, 1932 in Antioch, Arkansas to the later Arthur and Mary Liles.
Laverne graduated from Beebe High School in 1950 and moved to Little Rock in 1951, where her first job was with the Little Rock Chamber of Commerce.
She started working Federal Service at the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. The next move was to Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, then to Little Rock Air Force Base where she worked for the Civil Service for 37 years.
Laverne is survived one daughter, Michele Kasper of Little Rock, and one daughter-in-law, Mary Kasper of North Little Rock; grandchildren, Matthew Boyd (Laura) and Johnny Tackett; great-grandsons, Cooper Boyd and Gabe Tackett; brother, Tom Liles and his wife Vera, and sister, Peggy Henson and her husband, Frank. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Thomas Kasper, son, Michael Kasper, and siblings, James Liles, Frances Anastasia and Joe Glenn Liles.
Laverne’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Fox Ridge North Little Rock for taking such good care of her.
Visitation will be at 9:00 AM on Friday, August 22, 2025 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home (1921 Main Street) with a funeral service beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park.
