LaVette A. Davis departed this life on July 30th, 2024, LaVette was born the youngest of twins to the union of Jeanette E. Walton and James Davis. Both parents preceded her in death.
LaVette attended Kansas City Kansas Public School District USD 500. She was a proud graduate of Wyandotte High School class of 1989. LaVette also attended Donnelly Community College where she obtained her associate's degree. She worked as a life-changing educator and drill team coach at Northwest Middle School for 22 years. The students and staff loved and valued her warmth and strong work ethics.
LaVette accepted Christ at an early age, and she was baptized at Antioch Baptist Church in Kansas City, KS. She later became a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Kansas City, KS. LaVette was a faithful and loyal servant and remained so for the duration of her tenure.
LaVette was a proud mother who always made sure to cheer-on her son in all his endeavors including football games, band, drill team performances, and graduations. LaVette was also an exceptional domino player, and she was confident that she was the best. She also enjoyed cooking, music, singing, volunteering for the Gateway Highsteppers Drill Team and making treat bags for all her nephews, niece, and great nieces.
LaVette leaves to cherish her precious memory, her son, LaDarius Davis, her fur baby Royal Davis, step daughter Marquita Davis, twin sister LaVeda Davis, eldest sister Telicia Walton, two nephews Darian Nave and Montell White (Shanaya), one niece Monique Manning, three great nieces, two great nephews, step father Curtis Friday, best friend Ammie Nunnallu-Marshall and Sonya Willis, god-sister Terica Bowens-Mays, and a host of family and friends.
