James F. Lavrey, 93, Sebring, Florida, went to be with the Lord on January 10, 2025, at Sebring Hospice House in Sebring, Florida. James was born on September 22, 1931, in Arcade, New York to his parents William George Lavrey and Melda (Taylor) Lavrey.
He moved to Central Florida 30 years ago from Arcade, New York. He was a Fabricator in the Machine Assembly Industry. James was a Corporal serving in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was of the Methodist faith and was a member of Yorkshire Free Methodist Church in Yorkshire, New York. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and the Amvets all of Sebring, Florida.
He is survived by a daughter: Patty Emery; Sons: Mark Lavrey (Karen), Rick George (Linda), Dan George (Tammy), Jim George (Stacey Rogers) and Jerry George (Lynn); a brother: Frank Lavrey; a sister: Johanna Fuller; 18 loving grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Margie B. Lavrey, brothers, Bill, Gerald, Dick and Ray, sisters, June, Betty, Donna and Pat, and a son, Bill George.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Tunnels to Towers in his loving memory.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in New York by the family.
