Fort Valley, Ga. – Lawanda Marlene Moye, 71, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 10, 2023. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at 11:00 am at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Lawanda was born on June 17, 1952, to the late James Davis and Jean (Ross) Davis in Bryon, GA. At the age of 20 she married the love of her life, her husband of 51 years, Mr. Lewis Moye. Ater receiving her associate degree, Lawanda served as a nurse at Peach County Hospital for 28 years. In her spare time, you could find her at her grandbabies' sporting events, crafting, painting, or fishing. Lawanda never met a stranger and was a bonus mother to many.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Rebecca Moye and Gary Moye (Brandi); grandchildren: Hunter Lewis Moye and Logan Joel Hildebrandt; siblings: Faye Peacock (Leonard), Charlotte James (Larry), Alton Davis (Deanna) and many nieces and nephews.
With honor, Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.

Wanda was married to my cousin Lewis. Every time I saw them she was very friendly and kind. We shared some health horror stories over the course of our lives. It was good to talk to someone who could relate to me. I am so sorry for Lewis and her children´s loss. I know she was an excellent role model as wife and mother. My prayers are with you.
