Lawrence "Boots" Arnold

Lawrence Ray "Boots" Arnold, age 84, of Cedar Bluff, VA, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at an Abingdon, VA hospital.
He was born on October 6, 1940 in Jewell Ridge, VA to the late John H. Arnold and Della Goss Arnold.
Lawrence was a U.S. Army Veteran and was a retired miner. He was a member of UMWA Local #1760. He attended the Free Pentecostal Holiness Church in Murray Hollow. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and he will be missed by all that knew him. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Amy Barton; sisters, Helen Lowe, Doris "Red" Stinson, Frankie Stinson, and Hazel Arnold; and brothers, William Virgil "Bud" Arnold and Johnny Arnold; and half sister, Nancy Keen Arnold Holmes.

Curtis Arnold and wife, Liz of Bethesda, Ohio
Greg Arnold of Cedar Bluff, Virginia
John Arnold and wife, Sally of Salem, Virginia
Daughter: Tammy Barton of Cedar Bluff, Virginia
Seven Grandchildren and Four Great Grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Lawrence Ray "Boots" Arnold will be conducted Thursday, January 30, 2025 at 2pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Allen Gross and Rev. Rufus Gilbert, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be: Bobby Lowe, Jackie Massie, Dave Coleman, Michael Massie, Dave Elswick, and James Valenzeula. Members of the Casey-Shortt VFW Post #9640 will conduct military graveside rites. UMWA Honors will be conducted prior to the service on Thursday by the Sub 28 Chaplain Corp. Friends may visit with the family from 6pm until 9pm Wednesday evening at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia.
