Lawrence John Baumer III

Lawrence John Baumer III of Union, New Jersey, passed away on October 27, 2025. Born in Irvington, NJ, on May 27, 1947, Larry was the youngest of two children born to Lawrence John Baumer II and Margaret Weiler Baumer.
A Lifelong resident he grew up on Liberty Avenue in Union and graduated from Union High School in 1965, where he was a Junior Police Officer. After graduation, he went on to work for Lancaster Electric in Springfield, NJ, where he spent years honing his craft as an electrician. His experience and dedication eventually led him to establish his own company, LAR-RON Electric, through which he wired countless homes and businesses throughout Union and Essex Counties-most notably in Township of Millburn, including projects such as the Short Hills Club, Paper Mill Playhouse and Taylor Park. Larry attended and graduated in 1975 one of the first programs of the Special Police Dept in the Township of Union. Rising to the ranks of Sergeant.
Larry married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Ellen Vitale. The couple built their forever home just around the block from both Larry's parents and his in-laws, keeping family close in every sense of the word.
An avid outdoorsman and fisherman, Larry found peace and joy in nature and had a lifelong love for animals. His warmth, humor, and strong work ethic touched everyone who knew him.
Larry was predeceased by his parents, Margaret Weiler Baumerand Lawrence John Baumer II, and by his sister, Donna Baumer Peterson. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Vitale Baumer; his children, Lawrence John Baumer IV and Julie Baumer; his brother-in-law, Rick Peterson; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Larry's legacy of hard work, kindness, and devotion to family will live on through all who knew and loved him.
A wake will be held in Lawrence's honor on Sunday, November 2, 2025 between 2:00 and 7:00 PM at Bradley, Haeberle & Barth at 1100 Pine Ave. in Union, NJ. Family and friends are also invited to Bradley, Haeberle & Barth Funeral Home at 12:00 pm on Monday, November 3, 2025 followed by mass at St. Joseph's Church on 767 Prospect Street in Maplewood, NJ beginning at 1:00.
