He leaves to cherish his memories, his four daughters, Ella "Marie" Charles-East of Houston, TX, Marva Charles of Lake Charles, LA, Rosemary (Marcus) Charles-LeBlanc of Lake Charles, LA, and Miranda Charles of Lake Charles, LA; one son, Shane Charles of Lake Charles, LA; two sisters, Martha L. (Vincent) Eaglin of Manvel, TX and Mary L. (Lee) Roberts of Pearland, TX; one brother, Alexander (Corine) Charles Sr. of Houston, TX; four grandchildren, Dennis J. East Jr. of Houston, TX, Kaitlyn M. Nisby of Houston, TX, Kamryn A. and Karmen L. LeBlanc of Lake Charles, LA; godchildren, Michael Charles, Sr. of Opelousas, LA, Troy Charles of Lake Charles, LA, and Elizabeth Lewis Jones of Rosharon, TX; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ortley and Mandy Charles; daughter, Patsy Marie Charles; brothers, Ortley Charles Jr., Ernest Charles, Preston Charles, Sr., Louis Charles, Joseph Wallace Charles; sisters, Gladys Charles-Tyler, Anna Rose Charles-Butler; Helen Charles, Evelyn Charles-Auzenne.
His visitation will be Saturday, April 15, 2023, from 8:30AM to 10:30AM, at James Funeral Home, 1801 Moeling Street in Lake Charles with his funeral following at 11AM, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 610 Louisiana Avenue in Lake Charles. Father Joby Matthew will officiate. Burial will be in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of James Funeral Home.
