Lawrence A. Coe Jr., 68, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 21, 2024, at Garnet Health Medical Center.
He was the son of the late Lawrence and Marie Coe, Haverstraw, NY. Larry, as he was known to family and friends, served his country with honor as a United States Marine, dedicating 4 years of his life to active duty, including serving time in Vietnam.
After his military service, Larry pursued a career as a Federal Corrections Officer, retiring in 2005. He was dedicated to his work and served with integrity.
In his free time, Larry was an avid football fan always rooting for his favorite team, the New York Giants.
He also enjoyed gardening, working in his yard, going to flea markets and visiting the casino.
Larry will be deeply missed by his partner of 17 years, Sharon Klossner, his children Jennifer Dickinson and her husband Timothy, Michael Coe and his wife Sheerah, and Lawrence Coe III and his wife Carly; his brother Chuck Coe and his wife Michele, and all who knew him. He also leaves behind his four beloved grandchildren, Mackenzie, Lorelei, Oliver and Francesca. He was predeceased by his brother David Coe.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 1 from 11am - 1pm at the Martinez-Morse Funeral Home located at 33 Railroad Ave., Middletown, NY followed by internment with military honors at the Veterans Cemetery in Goshen, NY.
We would like to extend our sincerest heartfelt thank you to the dedicated and caring staff at Garnet Medical ICU unit. You became our lifeline during the most challenging and emotional times in our lives. You make such difficult times a little more comforting through your kindness and compassion. I first met Larry in 93 when I started at Otisville, and was lucky to have him as my mentor. I quickly learned that he was a man of integrity , good morals and respected amongst his peers. He was always there to help and guide and never judgement. Larry was a mans Man. I will truly miss u my friend.

There will be a little less sunshine in the world without Larry. He was a tremendous friend and co-worker to all who knew him and would go out of his way to help anyone. I'm certain he's having a wonderful reunion with old friends who passed before him and that he's keeping them entertained retelling stories of "the good ole days".
