Lawrence "Dwight" Cottrill, 81, of New Cumberland, gently passed away at home on Monday, June 17, 2025, after facing a brief illness.
Born on October 26, 1943, in Steubenville, he was the cherished son of the late Lawrence C. and Virginia Myers Cottrill.
Dwight was predeceased by his beloved wife, Betty Ann McCauley Cottrill; his daughter, Deanna Fletcher; and his brother, Larry Cottrill. A proud graduate of Weir High School, Class of 1962, he dedicated many years to Weirton Steel as a mechanic, showcasing his passion for hands-on work. Known affectionately as Mr. Fix-It, Dwight had a knack for rebuilding motors and always found joy in fixing things. His love for his wife, children, and grandchildren was boundless, and he treasured moments spent at Roger's Sale.
He leaves behind his loving children, Sherry Barr of Weirton and David Cottrill (Rene) of Grafton, OH, along with eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren who will remember him fondly.
Private services will be arranged at the family's convenience, with inurnment at Chapel Hill Cemetery. The Arner Funeral Chapel will handle arrangements.
