Lawrence Dennis, 87, was born on February 21, 1938, to the late Eliza Jane Adams Dennis and Ira Dennis, Sr., in Iva, SC. He departed this life on July 8, 2025, after a brief illness, at his home in Jonesboro, GA surrounded by his family and friends.

Lawrence graduated from New Deal High School in 1957. He served 4 years in the US Air Force and lived in Bridgeport, CT until relocating to Atlanta, GA in the 1980's.

Lawrence was a dedicated witness for Jehovah and served as an elder for many years. He will be remembered for his love for Bible truths, his wisdom, kindness, humility and acts of hospitality.

Left to cherish loving memories of Lawrence are his wife of 61 years, Barbara Thomas Dennis; his children, Kimberly (Sidney) Jackson of Washington State, Kenya Dennis of Jonesboro, GA, and Kendrick (Rosanne) Dennis of Stockbridge, GA.; his grandchildren, Lourdes Skeete-Dennis and Dylan Dennis; his sisters, Lillian Heard and Dianne Martin; his brothers, Morris (Geneva) Dennis and Albert Dennis; and a host of relatives and loving friends.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Lellia Mae Hanks and Etrulia Russell; four brothers, Ira Dennis, Jr., Douglas E. Dennis, Horace Dennis, Sr., and Anzie Dennis.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 1:30 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 681 Morrow Road, Forest Park, GA 30297.
