Lucy Mae Burns was born on April 14, 1941, and peacefully departed this life on July 20, 2025, at the age of 84. A woman of warmth and generosity, Lucy loved to cook, shop, and gather with her family and friends, always eager to feed everyone with her delicious meals and joyful spirit. Throughout her life, Lucy was an active and devoted member of her church community, finding strength and purpose in her faith. She cherished her family deeply and leaves behind her beloved children: Linda Skelton (and son-in-law), Brenda Burns, Joanne Merritt, Raymon Burns (and daughter-in-law), and Lillie Mae Burns. She was a proud grandmother to a host grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, with an extended family including first cousins, nieces, and nephews whose love for her was boundless.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, L.C. Rice and Lura Partlow, her spouse Robert L. Burns, her daughter Mary Ann Bobo, her son William Burns, grandson Jeremy Burns, grandson Michael Anthony Burns, sister Bertha Mae Brown, and siblings Leroy Burns, Elliot, and Clinton Partlow. Her legacy of kindness, love, and hospitality will be remembered and celebrated by all who knew her.
Though she has left this earthly life, her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.

A memorial service will be held in her honor to celebrate her life and the beautiful memories, at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at Tabernacle of David (915 S. Main Street, Anderson, SC).
