Lawrence Gonzales Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rogers Mortuary - Las Vegas on Oct. 9, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Lawrence Leroy Gonzales, beloved son, grandson, husband, father, grandfather, and uncle, met our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, peacefully on October 6, 2025.

Lawrence, age 60, was born and raised in Las Vegas, New Mexico. He loved spending time outdoors with his family and friends, especially when hunting or fishing. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Lakers, and Los Angeles Dodgers, and he made sure his sons did, too.

Lawrence also had a deep love for heavy metal music. His favorite bands included Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne, and Metallica. In his younger years, he attended many concerts and cherished those memories. At the age of eighteen, he met the love of his life, Amanda, who would later become his wife. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised three wonderful sons.

Lawrence was an exceptional captain of security before his disability, helping to build Associated Security Industries from the ground up. He commanded numerous guards who looked up to and respected him greatly. After retiring from security, he discovered a passion for art. His specialties included wood carving, wood burning, and glass etching. One of his proudest moments was being a part of Spanish Market in the late 2000s.

In his later years, Lawrence devoted himself to being a loving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. He was always there for his family and never hesitated to help anyone in need. His outgoing personality and witty "dad jokes" will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Lawrence is preceded in death by his father, Tomas Gonzales; brother, Rick Gonzales; and grandparents, Pete and Lillian Patron, Everesito and Amalia Gonzales, and Ernest and Pauline Chavez.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Amanda Gonzales; his three sons, Lawrence (Jessica), Nathan (Felina), and Sean (Audree); four grandchildren, Isaiah, Tomas, Logan, and Marley; his mother, Teresa Gonzales; two sisters, Ellen (Walter) and Beatrice; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Services will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Our Lady of Sorrows in Las Vegas, NM. Rosary will begin at 9 a.m. with the funeral mass immediately following. Serving as Pallbearers: Lawrence Gonzales II, Nathan Gonzales, Sean Gonzales, Mike Chavez, Christopher Patron, and Ethan Martinez. Honorary Pallbearers: Isaiah Gonzales, Tomas Gonzales, Logan Gonzales, Patrick Gonzales, and Elijah-Reigh Garcia.

Reception is still pending at this time.
