Lawrence E. “Larry” Harris, 64, a longtime resident of Worcester, was called home to his Lord, Saturday, December 27th, 2025, with family gathered at his bedside after a period of declining health. He is reunited in heaven with his three sons Tyrell J. Brown, Justin Harris, and Shaun Tatum and his father Lawrence Harris who all predeceased him.
Lawrence a vibrant soul, was born in Durham, North Carolina. The son of Mary Ann (DeWitt) Harris-Marks and the late Lawrence Harris. He was raised in New York City and later settled in Massachusetts. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp serving his country proudly during the Persian Gulf War. Upon discharge and return home, Larry earned his Associates Degree in Technology from ITTech. He began working as an IT Tech specialist before accepting a position as an Amtrack Conductor with the railroad for many years before retiring.
Larry leaves to mourn his loss, three daughters, Danielle V. Harris, Tikia McCoy and Shari Tatum; his mother Mary Ann Harris-Marks; two sisters, Phyllis D. Moore and Beverly “Belle” Harris; a grandson, Ronald M. Steele, Jr.; aunts, Matilda Harris, Ann Bynum and Betty Railey; nephews, Marvin W., Isaac G. and Isaiah J. Moore; niece, Nakiesha moore; his cat Tia; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, including Charlene Delgardo, and Rex Long, residences of Worcester, and Paul Donner, a friend (like a brother) from high school who currently lives in New Mexico. In addition to his sons and father, a brother Marvin W. Harris, also predeceased him.
Larry a kind soul with huge heart believed his family was the most important parts of life. He was extremely compassionate and generous with his love, time, and resources, helping anyone he could. He was the heart of every celebration, the soul of every gathering, and the source of countless memories that will live on in the stories told by those lucky enough to have known him.
