Lawrence M. Howk

Victor: Lawrence M. Howk, of Victor, NY died peacefully at home on August 16, 2024 at the age of 86. He was predeceased by parents, Clarissa and Marvin Howk; and siblings, Ted Howk, Dick Howk, Lois Scammon, and Mike Langie. Survived by his wife of 66 years, Pat Howk; daughters, Laurie (Howie) Long and Kate Karl; son, Jim (Tammy) Howk; four grandchildren, Justin (Katherine) Long, Courtney (Dan) Steger, Lauren (Justus) DiPeppe, Owen (Lara) Karl; five great-grandchildren, Emma, Conner, Siena, Kenyon and Van; siblings, Carl (Penny) Howk, Linda Langie, Larry Scammon, Paula Howk and Diana Howk; and many nieces and nephews.
Joining the Brighton Fire Department at 18 years old, Larry was a dedicated volunteer who served as District Treasurer for 50 years and as Department Chief.
As a rugged outdoorsman, Larry was happiest with his Labrador Maggie by his side at the Vanderbilt Marsh Club where he was a founding member - or working on a project at his family cabin on Canandaigua Lake.
Larry was a loving family man who was generous with his time and talents for the benefit of his community. He will be greatly missed by his family and many dear friends.
Friends may call Thursday, August 22 from 4-7PM at the funeral chapel (2305 Monroe Ave.). A Funeral Service will be held Friday, August 23, 10AM at First Baptist Church of Rochester, 175 Allens Creek Rd. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Open Door Mission or Veterans Outreach Center in his memory.
