Larry is the beloved husband of the late Patricia Kern (d. 1994). Loving father of Betti Kern and the late Jack (Kim) Kern. Dear grandfather of Erin, Samantha and Patrick (Madison) Kern. Great grandfather of Tyler, Brielle and Cooper. Brother of Dorothy (the late John) Flynn. He was preceded in death by his sisters Betty (the late Jack) Ryan, Mary (Syl) Noetzel and Margie (the late Chuck) Milazzo. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Larry loved to tinker with things and would often take things apart, only to not put them back together again. More than anything, Larry's passion was flying his yellow seaplane and he often started his day by flying over Walled Lake.
Funeral mass from St. William Catholic Church, 531 Common Street, alled Lake, Saturday 10 AM (Visitation 9:30 AM). Friends may visit Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 340 North Pontiac Trail, Walled Lake (3 Blks. S. of Maple Rd.) Friday 2-8 PM. Memorials to Wings of Mercy are appreciated.

Larry was awesome and funny, he was nice as long as you did not disagree with his methods of fixing stuff. He always allowed me to hook up my jetski in front of his house in the lake and he would share his beach hotdogs over the fire and his favorite black label beer. Loved him.

Larry always had a great attitude and would always take time out to talk for a few minutes First time I met him he had just landed his plane and I was delivering his mail. Great guy
