Lawrence Francis "Pat" Kramer

Kramer, Jr., Lawrence Francis, "Pat", age 90, of Wyckoff, formerly of Paterson, on Thursday, August 24, 2023.
Born and raised in Paterson, Pat had lived there most of his life before moving to Wyckoff. In 1965, Pat commenced his career as General Manager of Lawrence F. Kramer Company in Paterson. He started his political career in 1966 when he was elected Mayor of Paterson, serving from 1967-1972 and then again from 1975 to 1982. During the hiatus from the Mayoral office, Pat served on Governor William Cahill's cabinet as the Commissioner of Community Affairs for the State of New Jersey. He was true leader in the Paterson community. As mayor, he led the effort to designate the Great Falls of Paterson as a National Historic Landmark in 1976. Pat continued his efforts after his time in office and worked to have the Falls designated a National Historic Park in 2009. After his public service, Pat began as the Executive Vice President of V. Paulius & Associates in Allendale. He was a parishioner of St. Therese R.C. Church in Paterson and then St. Elizabeth's R.C. Church in Wyckoff.
Pat was the beloved husband of Rosanne (nee: Lucarelli) Kramer. Loving father of Kim Kramer and her husband Jim Gallagher of Little Falls, Kip Kramer and his wife Donna of Glen Rock and Kelly Kramer and his wife Trish of Harrington Park. Dear step-father of Karl Kemm and his wife Whitney, Edward Kemm and his wife Barbara and Jeanine Kemm and her husband Mike Waters. Dearest grandfather of Cole Kramer, Jimmy Gallagher, Cade Kramer, Liliah Kramer, Lilly Kemm, and Jacquie Kemm. Pat was predeceased by his sisters, Mary, Margaret, June, and Carol.
Funeral will be departing at 9:00am on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 from the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Avenue, Hawthorne for a 9:30am funeral mass at St. Anthony's R.C Church, Hawthorne. Interment will follow at the Calvary Cemetery, Paterson. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.
