Lawrence "Larry" Lavigne, 88, of Londonderry, NH passed away Friday July 28, 2023, at his residence after a period of declining health. Larry was born October 26, 1934, in Berlin, NH and was the only son of the late Ronaldo Lavigne and Ruth (Chadonette) Frappier. He was raised and educated in Berlin, and has been a resident of Londonderry for the past year, having previously lived in Manchester, NH.
Larry was a veteran of the US Navy during the Korean War. After the war, "Mr. L" as he was affectionately known began his lifelong love for and career in welding. In his later years, he was an assistant welding teacher at Manchester Community College. Larry enjoyed fishing and 10 pin bowling and the special relationship he shared with his beloved companion "Houdini" the cat. Mr. L will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He had an especially strong bond to his great grandson Holden.
His is survived by his wife of 61 years, D. Lynn (Hunter) Lavigne, his daughter and her husband Cheryl A. & Tom Perault, two grandsons and their wives, Nick & Shelby Perault, Zack & Kayla Perault and great grandson Holden Perault. Larry was predeceased by his Son Edward C. Lavigne in 2005.
After cremation, the family is planning private services with Military Honors at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium 290 Mammoth Road Londonderry, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Manchester Community College 1066 Front Street Manchester, NH 03102 Attn: Welding Department.
