Lee, as he preferred to be called, grew up on a ranch near Butte, Nebraska. He graduated from high school in Butte, NE and then went off to college to become music teacher. He taught several years in various places and in nearby states.
Lee was also a very talented chef. He cooked at several restaurants and was known for his culinary talents.
After becoming ill, and not being able to live alone, Lee moved into assisted living and later was a resident at Arbor Care Nursing Home in O'Neill, NE.
Lee is survived by his brother Steve Obermire of Wayne, NE, and Uncle Melvin Bentzen of Omaha, NE, as well as numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Vincent and Evelyn Obermire.
