On September 24, 2025, Lawrence Charles Ubil, fondly known as Larry, embarked on his final journey. A humble gentleman, born on January 8, 1940, was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA for his 85 years. He was a beacon of love and generosity, whose spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to have known him. His loyalty to his family, friends, and work was unwavering, making him a pillar of strength and dependability in his community.

Larry was a proud American Navy Veteran who served his country with pride. Larry's fondness for Navy memorabilia was a testament to his patriotism and respect for those who served. His dedication to his work was paralleled only by his devotion to his family, meant everything to him. He was an active member of the Tin Can Sailors Association and relished the camaraderie of sharing breakfast with his fellow members. He found joy in simple pleasures, from the thrill of adding a new coin to his collection, enjoying modeled trains and loved a good crossword puzzle.

In the words of Maya Angelou, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Larry, with his loving heart and generous spirit, made everyone feel special and cherished. He is survived by his brother, Charles Ubil and his wife Therese. His grandchildren Nicole Johnson and Chrissy Johnson. He will be sadly missed by his son-in-law Thomas Johnson and his many nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents Helen and Lawrence Ubil, his beloved wife Helen, his loving daughter, Debra Johnson and his sisters Joan Hayes, Ruth Johnston and his brother Frank Ubil. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Relatives and friends may greet his family on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at the Lambie Funeral Home, 8000 Rowland Avenue, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19136. His funeral service will follow at 11:00 am. Larry will be laid to rest with his wife in Washington Crossing National Cemetery with honors provided by the US Navy. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Larry's memory to VITAS Inpatient Hospice Unit at Nazareth Hospital 2601 Holme Avenue, 2nd Floor, Philadelphia, PA 19152 would be greatly appreciated.
