With a heart full of memories, we announce the passing of Michael Johnston, a man of remarkable intellect, humble spirit, unwavering loyalty, and profound thoughtfulness. Born on December 29, 1962, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Michael embraced the world with an unmatched zest for life, bringing light and warmth to everyone who crossed his path. His life was a testament to resilience, a journey that saw him become the first person in his family to graduate from college. He was a proud alumnus of North Catholic High School and later achieved his Master's MBA from LaSalle University, setting a sterling example for those who followed him.

Michael's professional life was as distinguished as his personal one. As an accomplished CPA at Septa, he showed his colleagues the true meaning of dedication and commitment. His brilliance was matched only by his humility, and he was cherished by his work friends at Septa, creating bonds that transcended the confines of the workplace. Yet, Michael was not all work and no play. He was an exceptional piano player, his melodies filling the room with an enchanting aura that was hard to resist. He also had a soft spot for his pug dogs, Moira and Eva, who were his constant companions.

Michael's life was not without its hardships, but his resilience was always his beacon. He valued his relationships above all else, evident in his deep bonds with his friends and family. He is survived by his loving sister, Sheila Bird, and her husband, Christopher Bird, as well as his cherished nephews, Sean and Matthew Bird. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Johnston, his mother, Ruth Johnston, and his brothers, Joseph III and Timothy Johnston.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet his family Wednesday, October 8, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM at Lambie Funeral Home 8000 Rowland Avenue (At Rhawn Street). A service to Celebrate the Life of Michael will follow at 6:30 PM. Interment will be private.
