Lawrence Werner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Audubon Funeral Home & Cremation Services - Slidell on Jan. 9, 2026.
Lawrence "Larry" Joseph Werner III, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on January 5, 2026, at the age of 63, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Born on January 3, 1963, in New Orleans, Louisiana, he is the beloved son of Lawrence Werner Jr. and Delyle Buras Werner.
Larry is the cherished husband of Lori Zammit Werner, with whom he shared 42 memory filled years; adored father of Lawrence Joseph Werner IV and Logan Charles Werner (Christen); proud grandfather of Scottie Keaton Werner; and brother of Craig Werner (Sheryl) and Kyle Werner (Tracey). He also leaves behind, to cherish his memory, a host of extended family members and friends, all of whom he loved greatly.
Larry graduated from Rummel High School with the Class of 1981. He went on to operate LJ's Body Shop for many years.
An avid outdoorsman, Larry loved hunting and fishing. He found solitude and enjoyment being on the water and at the camp in Demopolis, Alabama, where he created many fond memories with his family and friends.
Larry will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Larry's life will be held at a later date. Memories and condolences may be expressed at www.AudubonFuneralHome.com

The Larry I got to be around was a strong honest man. He influenced in many ways from being self employed, being an awesome father, a devoted husband to being a stand up neighbor.
It´s easy to see just how amazing Larry was by looking no further than his loving wife and to his 2 sons. Living nextdoor to him and this family was not just a privilege but an honor.

I will always carry a small part of this man in my heart and mind and give all glory to the God most high for allowing me to be able to call him "my friend"

I will see ya on the other side L

God bless us all...everyone

Larry was such a good guy and a fine neighbor. After Hurricane Katrina when my parents came to live with me with nothing but their car and the clothes on their backs, Larry gave my daddy a bunch of his travel tee shirts. He made my dad so happy. He also boiled crabs he caught and would give some to my family. In Heaven, I hope he meets my husband Steve and my son John, and they have a few laughs together.
