Lawrence Wilder

Lawrence Wilder was born May 15, 1956 in Newark, NJ. He was the six born of the marital union of Beatrice I. Blunder-Wilder and Russell E. Wilder, Sr.
Lawrence received his education in the Newark, NJ public school system. He is an alumnus of Weequahic High School, Newark, NJ Class of 1974. After graduating high school, Lawrence joined the military and served our country as a Marine.
Lawrence was known for his giving spirit. Although he never married or fathered children, he took great pleasure in being an active uncle in the lives of his nieces and nephews and buying them gifts.
Lawrence cared for others. He made it one of his priorities to help the seniors in his community with grocery shopping, mowing their lawns, and shoveling their snow.
Lawrence enjoyed attending action movies. He was especially fond of the Marvel Avengers SYF Movie. He also enjoyed going to the movies with his brother Charles.
Lawrence loved working with children and over the years he was employed by West Peddie Daycare Center and IYO Community Center both located in Newark, NJ.
On Thursday, January 2, 2025, Lawrence entered into his eternal rest after a brief illness. His mother Beatrice I. Blunder Wilder, father Russell E. Wilder, Sr. (Father), two (2) sisters Dorothy Wilder, Ann Wilder- Cromwell, one (1) brother Russell E. Wilder, Jr., and one (1) nephew John Tracey Wilder preceded him in death.
Lawrence was a blessing to our family and he will be greatly missed. He leaves to cherish his memory two (2) sisters Ruth Wilder (Zack) Lane, Sheila Y. Wilder, one (1) brother Charles (Pamela) Wilder, two (2) nephews Anthony Davis, Najee Wilder, and three (3) nieces Alnisha Ward, Keisha Cromwell, Tahira Andrews, and six (6) great nieces, LaTara Wilder, Troi Ward, Ty'Aisha Andrews, Madison Lowe, Samiyah Wilder, Ty'Lah Flowers, two (2) great nephews John Wilder, Ty'Jamir Meisierr and a host of other relatives and friends.
