Le Roy Jackson Sr.

Le Roy Jackson, Sr., passed away on October 6th 2025 at the Comfort House in McAllen. He was 88 years of age. He was born on July 11th 1937 in La Joya, Texas to Samuel and Manuela Jackson.
Le Roy was a graduate of La Joya High School, the Pan American University in Edinburg and received a master's degree from Texas A & M University in Kingsville, Texas. He taught 7th and 8th grade math at La Joya ISD where he was selected to participate in a National Science Foundation Math Institute at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas and also at the University of Texas at Austin. He later worked as a math consultant for Region One Education Service.
He enjoyed coaching Pee-Wee and Bronco league teams throughout McAllen. In addition to hunting and fishing, his passion was spending time at the Providencia Ranch in Starr County where he raised cattle. Le Roy was a member of La Lomita Lions Club and also the Sierra Club of McAllen.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Carmen Ramirez Jackson and his parents as well as numerous siblings. He is survived by his son: Le Roy Jackson, Jr., (Brenda Lopez), daughter: Adrianna Caldwell (Gregory), grandchildren: Katherine Caldwell, Hunter R. Jackson (Victoria), Avery L. Jackson, Devin Lewis and great-grandchildren: Tristen Jackson, Ryder Jackson and sisters: Irma Limas and Amanda Solis.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, October 13th 2025 between the hours of six and eight o'clock in the evening. A recitation of the holy rosary will be prayed at seven o'clock. The funeral mass will be celebrated at nine thirty in the morning on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in McAllen where Monsignor Larry White will serve as celebrant. The interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in McAllen
