Leah K. Schwind passed away peacefully at home July 26, 2025, surrounded by loved ones at the age of 91. She was a native of Black Rock, Arkansas but lived most of her life in Kentucky.
In her later years, she moved to Lexington, KY to be with her daughter and granddaughter. While a loving mother and grandmother (Grams), she surrounded herself with the beauty of gardening and the joy of artistic expression through painting and crafting. Her quick wit, wonderful cooking, and never-ending support of her family were the foundation of her life. She enjoyed family vacations, rock hunting, Native American culture, birdwatching and the constant companionship of her loving dogs. She had a strong love of God and Jesus that carried her through life. Although she is gone, she will forever live in the hearts of her loved ones.
She is preceded in death by parents, Pauline Cummins and Burns Gray; and brothers, Jimmy and Freddie.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Meier; her granddaughter, Jennifer (Derrick) Bolhofner; and great grandchildren, Olive and Hazel Bolhofner.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of memorial gifts, please make donations to the hospice support of Bluegrass Care Navigators.
Care Cremation and Funeral Service is honored to be entrusted with final care.
