LeAnn Pope

LeAnn Jarvis Pope, born on July 10th, 1958, in Provo, UT, returned to her eternal home on October 28th, 2025 while undergoing back surgery at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. LeAnn is the daughter of the late Wendyl and Myrl Jarvis.
Coming from a background of rich pioneer history, she found great joy in the outdoors riding horses, motorcycles, and camping. Despite a serious spinal injury as a teenager and after a miraculous recovery, she earned her Associates Degree from Ricks College in 1980 and her Bachelor's Degree from Brigham Young University in 1984 to pursue her dream of becoming an educator.
LeAnn began her career as a school teacher in Beaver, Utah. While teaching there, she decided to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was called to serve in Seoul, South Korea. LeAnn always cherished her time spent there and loved to cook Korean-style dishes and share them with friends and family.
LeAnn moved to California after her mission to accept an elementary school teacher position. In 1989 she married George Pope, they later divorced. During her marriage she was blessed with three children who were her life's joy. LeAnn loved to learn, to solve puzzles, to read and she passed that love on to her children. She later returned to Utah to reconnect with her family and assist her own aging mother. She was always actively involved in her church community where she served in many callings. Wherever she went, LeAnn made life-long friends through her kindness, compassion, listening ear, and buoyant personality. Her unconditional love made life better for all who knew her.
LeAnn is now survived by her children, Matthew, Amelia, and Daniel, her siblings, Mark, Myrna, and Janell, as well as her grandchildren, Charlotte and Matthias. LeAnn is also remembered by her nieces, nephews, and many more family and friends. Her legacy is one of love, hope, and perseverance. She is dearly missed.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 8, 2025, in the American Fork 43rd Ward, 240 South Center Street, American Fork, Utah 84003. Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing prior to the service from 9:30 am to 10:45 am.
