Funeral services celebrating the life of LeAnne Alford McFarland, 64, of West Monroe, Louisiana will be held at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, March 8, 2025 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with Dr. Kevin Stewart officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M., Friday, March 7, 2025 at the funeral home.
LeAnne was born on August 20, 1960, in Tyler, TX to parents, Frank and Wynell Alford. She passed from this life on March 5, 2025, in Monroe, Louisiana.
She met her husband, Kelly McFarland, at a steak house in Longview, TX when they were both very young. After a whirlwind courtship and some eye rolls from their parents they were married on November 27, 1981, in Beaver, OK. They started out with one precious little girl and over the years added two more daughters and a son. Being a mother and later Nanna and then Great Nanna was always what gave her the most joy in her life.
Over the years LeAnne had many careers. She was always having to follow along with Kelly for his job. From one small town to the next LeAnne would find a way to help with the family finances. She was a Pharmacy Tech., Bank Teller, Medical Clinic Clerk, Dental Assistant, Daycare Worker, to name a few. She always had a heart for children and volunteered several years with Community Bible Study as a Children’s Director.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Kelly McFarland; father, Frank Alford and his wife, Nancy; daughters, Misty Mendoza and husband, Paul, Mary Higgs and her husband, Nicolas, and Melissa Wiler and her husband, Bryson; son, Kyle McFarland and his wife, Meaghan; grandchildren, Tyler Mendoza and wife, Alicia, Kelsey Mendoza, Katie Story and her husband, Benji, Levi Mendoza, Luke Mendoza, Jasmine Higgs, Nick Higgs, Meagan Kizer, Colton Higgs, Greyson Wiler, Emerson Wiler, Archer McFarland, and Sawyer McFarland; great grandchild, Urijah; as well as a host of friends and loved ones.
LeAnne was preceded in death by her mother, Wynell Nelson; and sister, Sharon Allen. Those three are now rejoicing to be back together.
LeAnne will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
