Leatrice "Sis" J. MacDonald, 95, of Marinette passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at home surrounded by her family including her niece, Tracy. She was born on June 18, 1927, to the late Claude and Mary (LaCombe) Hebert in Marinette. She graduated from Marinette High School in 1947. On July 26, 1947, Sis married John MacDonald at St. Joseph's Church in Marinette; he preceded her in death on February 7, 2014. She had worked Bond Pickle for a very short time and enjoyed being a homemaker and mom. Sis was a member of Holy Family Parish. She enjoyed her WI sports teams: Bucks, Brewers, and Badgers. Her family was her life, she loved attending kids sporting events and programs, shopping with her girls, and travel with her husband. She also enjoyed her flowers and cleaning her home.
Sis is survived by her sons: Robert (Brinda) McDonald of Haines City, FL, Donald (Shari) McDonald of Peshtigo, Brian (Carolyn) McDonald of Evansville, WI; daughters, Dawn (Gary) Polzin of Marinette and Deb (Catherine) McDonald of Plover; brother, Art (Marilyn) Hebert of Milwaukee; grandchildren: Wendy (Doug) Weiderfoeft, Lisa McDonald, Nicole (Nick Baker) Polzin, Nathan (Jessica Martineau) Polzin, Kimberly, Jessie (Sara), Jasen (Sydney), Bradley, Max, and Alex McDonald; Conner (Kamari) and Cameron (Jaimie) Wiederfoeft, Brandon Bay, Ayden Medina, Addison Bublitz, Eli, Archer, and Vayda McDonald, and Grace Martineau; and great-great grandson, Finnick Wiederhoeft. In addition to her parents and husband, John; she was preceded in death by brothers: Douglas, Claude Jr. "Putch", Wayne, and Darrell; sisters, Carol Peters and Jeannine Yost; grandsons, Jake and Ryan; and great granddaughter Adalynn.
Visitation will be held at Holy Family Parish – Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Saturday, February 25th from 10:30am until time of service. A Funeral Mass will be held at Noon with Rev. Celestine Byekwaso officiating.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Peshtigo. Thielen Funeral Home is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude's, Boys Town, or the Disabled American Vets would be appreciated.
The family would like to thank Unity Hospice, especially nurses, Mary Cady, Amanda Grosse, and Sarah Pommerich and include a special thank you to her niece and goddaughter, Tracy Polasky whom she considered to be another daughter.
