Leaux "Bobby" Alexander Zanders was born January 26, 1944, to the late Harriet Wyatt and the late Jesse Zanders in New York City. He departed this life on January 16, 2023, in Albemarle, North Carolina. He attended New York public schools and later in life, he moved to North Carolina and then to South Carolina where he retired from A.O. Smith.
He never met a stranger and made friends where ever he went. He was a diehard football fan and lover of sci-fi. Leaux was very talkative and kind to everyone he encountered leaving an impression on everyone for years to come. Anyone that met him will always remember something funny or recall their conversations with laughter and joy in their voices.
He leaves to mourn four daughters, Yvette Zanders, and Nachez Zanders of Charlotte, NC, Khadijah Zanders of Bronx, NY, and Savaya Fajardo (Raquel); stepchildren, Nichole Brown, Hunson Johnson, Nikki Fajardo, all of Charlotte, NC, Shaundreka Austin, and Alexis Austin of SC; four grandchildren, Takiyah Zanders, Shamyka Johnson, Quaness Johnson, Hermyilei Johnson, and Tahriq Johnson all of Charlotte, NC, and Zakaria Austin; three great-grandchildren, Mirakyl Zanders- Elbey, Railynn Turner, and Princeton Brown all of Charlotte, NC; a sister, Renee Foster of New York; a brother, Wayne Foster (Laverne) of Georgia. He also leaves to mourn his companion of more than twenty years, Michelle Austin; nieces and nephews, and many friends. He will be missed by all.
Therefore, you too have grief now; But I will see you again,
and your Heart will rejoice, and no one Will take your joy away from you. John 16:22
