Mr. Gannon was born in Bronxville, NY on November 27, 1937, and died peacefully at home, surrounded by his girls on October 16, 2025.

He was a 1955 graduate of Iona Preparatory School in New Rochelle, NY. He then attended Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA and New York University in NYC. His career was primarily spent with the American Broadcasting Company (ABC) in various sales and sales management positions. His last ten years were spent as the General Sales Manager of WXYZ-TV in Detroit, Michigan.

He had been a resident of Venice, Florida since 1989. As an avid golfer he was a member of Waterford Golf Club and, at different times, Venice Golf and Country Club and The Oaks. He was the Club Champion at Waterford in 1996.

He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, his contagious joy, and kindness that extended to everyone he met. Lee left everyone feeling better for having spent time with him, whether it was a close relationship or simply in passing. He was also a die-hard Notre Dame Fighting Irish fan.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Joan (Seemann), who he loved to sing with every chance they got. His goal in life was to make her smile every single day, and he succeeded. He is also survived by their daughters, Melissa Kacy of Lake Orion, MI and Patty Gannon of Scottsdale, AZ.; grandchildren Michael (Brittany), Nicholas, Daniel and Molly DiPonio; and great granddaughters Ava Leigh and Celia DiPonio.

For the past 33 years he has been a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous. He enjoys playing trivia and making all of his own clothes!
